a pint for your wall

I stitched a guinness hoop.

I don’t even like guinness. but I do like birds. especially ones that balance pints on their beaks like it’s the most normal thing in the world.

this one was fun – bold colours, crisp outlines, a bit of vintage nonsense. stitched on natural calico using a mix of dmc and some mystery orange thread I’ve had for ages.

it’s not listed on my website – he’s just one of those one-off makes I stitched on a whim. if you fancy it, drop me a message.

love you, bye. x

the big fat embroidery sale (yes, really)

well, well, well… look who’s finally doing a sale.

I’ve been hoarding hoops like a thread-obsessed smeagol, and it’s time to let them go. my walls are full, my drawers are overflowing, and frankly, I need the space (and the cash).

so, for the first time ever, I’m having a big fat embroidery sale™️

what’s in the sale?

  • one-of-a-kind hoops: each one stitched by me, with love, caffeine, and a touch of existential dread
  • discounts: because who doesn’t love a bargain? prices are slashed, but the quality remains impeccable
  • limited stock: once they’re gone, they’re gone. no restocks, no backorders, no regrets

why now?

because I looked around and realised I’ve created more hoops than i have wall space. and because you deserve some embroidered joy in your life.

also I’m cooking up big things for ni-cul. a bit of a rebrand, some new stuff in the works, and a fresh start for this chaotic little business of mine. think of this sale as the end of an era (and the start of something better).

how to shop?

head over to my shiny new shop and grab your favourites. or don’t. but you’ll be missing out.

love you, bye. x

powerpuff hotline

I was so tempted to quote drake, but I hate that guy, so I won’t.

today, I’ve spent the day messing with some watercolour paints, posca pens, and thread. let me tell you: I’ve had the best time.

I made a powerpuff hotline phone!

I had a vision, a posca pen, and an unnecessary amount of determination. now I have this little embroidered masterpiece of the powerpuff girls’ iconic red hotline phone. it’s giving childhood memories, it’s giving crime-fighting urgency, it’s giving miss bellum better pick up.

so yeah, today was a good day. love you, bye. x

welcome to krusty burger

I bet you can’t believe it. I’m writing a blog. and you’ll never guess what… I also finished an embroidery hoop too!

I’ve been keeping pretty quiet on socials recently as I’ve not been sewing a whole lot. I haven’t been doing a whole lot of anything actually. I’ve just been reading, napping, working, or lying under a blanket on the sofa, you know. just winter activities.

this week, it felt like the ice has been thawing. I actually wanted to do something crafty. so I finally finished this krusty burger hoop I’ve had hanging around for ages.

that’s it. that’s the post. see you very soon. love you, bye. x

in a bit, etsy

it pains me to say this but I’ve just deactivated all of my listings on etsy.

why?

well, you see, the law has changed and now it’s impossible for me to sell my hoops to people in the EU and NI without paying a whacking great fee.

I don’t have a) the time, b) the money, or c) the resources to jump through all these new hoops (lol) to comply with the new regulations.

it sucks.

I’m hoping that things will change soon, or the rules will become just a little it clearer… and when it does, I’ll be back.

but for now, my etsy shop is on hiatus. I’ll be back soon. love you, bye. x

can I throw-up in your bathroom?

I told you I’d be back again, didn’t I?

I’ve just finished another simpsons hoop, and this time it’s everyone’s favourite alcoholic, mr barney gumble.

here’s my hoop… as a gif, of course:

if you’d like to buy this hoop for your favourite boozer, head to my etsy shop. love you, bye. x

patty & selma

long time, no see!

I’m very sorry for my radio silence… turns out it’s really hard to be consistent with… well, everything.

but I’m back (for now anyway!) and I wanted to show you the last couple of hoops I did before my early on-set retirement.

of course I had to stitch springfield’s hottest babes: patty & selma.

and if you want to remember which one is which: patty is the one in the pink dress, and selma is the other one.

I haven’t gotten round to putting these hoops on my etsy shop yet, but if you’d like to buy them, let me know! I can do nice price for you. love you, bye. x

flesh eating bacteria

okay, first things first, let’s address the elephant in the room. where have I been? well, you see, I have this problem where I get hyperfixated on hobbies and activities, and the embroidery hyperfixation went on a small… hiatus, while I got hyperfixated on running and the sims 4 instead.

but enough of that – I’m back. and today I finished a hoop that’s been hanging around on my desk for months.

and as always, if you haven’t watched the simpsons, here’s your context:

if you like this hoop so much you’d like to own it, click this link! love you, bye. x

nothin’ at all

I did it! I dragged myself, kicking and screaming, out of my creative slump, and I finally finished my stupid sexy flanders embroidery hoop.

in case you have no idea what I’m talking about (if you don’t, you need to start watching the simpsons immediately), here’s some context:

and here’s my embroidery hoop:

if you’d like to purchase this hoop, I’ve listed it on etsy and you can find it here.

and make sure to follow me on tiktok to catch up with all my process videos, behind the scenes, and more! love you, bye. x

creative slump

this is hard for me to admit but… I’m in a creative slump.

my head is full of ideas – for embroidery hoops and designs, for social media posts, for blogs… but when it actually comes to doing them… no thanks.

I can’t quite work out what it is. is it because I’m tired from work? is it because I’m addicted to watching trash reality tv shows? maybe. is it because I tried and failed at doing the artist’s way? almost definitely.

this blog post is basically an accountability thing: if I declare to the world that I’m going to make an effort to create more, make time to stitch, stitch while I watch married at first sight australia, then I’m more likely to do it.

so, watch this space. and thank you for reading. love you, bye. x
