air max 90

last week I gave away one of my oldest and favouritest hoops: the air max 90.

don’t get me wrong – I’m not a nike fan-girl. I’m waaay more loyal to vans and asics, but I can appreciate a good trainer when I see one.

which is exactly why a couple of years ago, I started a new series that I called “single thread sneakers” and this was the first one I stitched.

I think the recipient was pretttttty happy with it too.

if you’re looking for a handmade hoop for a gift for someone special – get in touch. I can do commissions! love you, bye. x

mr sparkle

as you may know, I’m a big fat fan of stitching simpsons characters, and mr sparkle has been on my “to stitch” list for a while now.

in case you don’t know, mr sparkle (ミスタースパーコル misutā supākoru) is a japanese dishwashing detergent mascot who bears a strong resemblance to homer.

watch this:

and here’s my embroidery hoop:

and of course I made a tiktok of it. you can watch it here!

and if you’d like to buy this hoop, you can find it on my etsy shop. I’m currently running a 25% sale on all of my hoops until january 31 so if you fancied grabbing anything, now is the time to do so. love you, bye. x

chippy tea

there’s nothing better than a friday night chippy tea. whether you go for a battered sausage and curry sauce, or chips with gravy – it’s a quintessential british tradition (and delicacy tbh!).

which is why, comedy-folk band the lancashire hotpots decided to write an absolute banger about it, and why I decided to make an embroidery hoop in ode of it.

firstly, listen to this:

and secondly, look at this:

if you, like me, really love chippy tea (or know someone who does), you can buy this hoop here.

I hope I’ve inspired you to have chippy tea for dinner tonight. love you, bye. x

ps: if you’d like to read more about the history of chippy tea, check out this blog. it’s very interesting, and made me hungry.

someone you really love

I asked chatgpt to write a little something about blur’s song, “girls and boys” and here’s what it came up with:

“blur’s “girls and boys” was released in 1994, and it’s still a great song to listen to today. it’s catchy, it’s danceable, and it’s got a great message about gender roles and sexuality.

the song is about how people are free to express themselves however they want, regardless of their gender. it’s a celebration of diversity and individuality.

“girls and boys” is also a great example of blur’s eclectic sound. the song combines elements of pop, rock, dance, and electronica into one catchy tune.

if you’re looking for a fun and uplifting song to listen to, check out blur’s “girls and boys.” it’s sure to put a smile on your face.”

I made an embroidery of the lyrics this weekend, and a stop-motion video to go with it. I’m very proud of the video, it took bloody ages to make, and I’m glad it’s getting the love it deserves on tiktok.

(ps: if you’re not following me on tiktok yet – please do. here’s my link).

happy bacon day

I’m not going to lie; I LOVE stitching the simpsons. there’s just something about the colours and the illustration style that makes it so fun.

in case you missed it – so far I’ve stitched king-size homer (twice actually), mr burns when he was an alien, mr burns when he’s on the phone in his dressing gown, blinky the three eyed fish (did this one twice as well), stupid sexy flanders, bart when he’s being so great, and this week I finished up my favourite to date: the breakfast marge makes homer on their anniversary.

you’re probably not a simpsons-nerd like me, so here’s a wee clip so you can get the idea:

and here’s my masterpiece (biased? yes. it’s been a labour of love):

and as a chronically-online gal, here’s the tiktok I made of my process.

if you’d like to buy this hoop, give me a shout and we’ll see what we can do. and if you have anything simpsons-related you’d like stitched, please get in touch. love you, bye. x

I’ve had this domain for over 3 years and thought it was about time I actually did something with it… so here we go.

so, what’s been going on?

I’ve just listed a load of new hoops on my etsy shop. it would mean the world to me if you bought one.

and I’ve been working really hard on video content recently. you can watch my videos on tiktok.

that’s all for today. love you, bye. x
