there’s nothing better than a friday night chippy tea. whether you go for a battered sausage and curry sauce, or chips with gravy – it’s a quintessential british tradition (and delicacy tbh!).
which is why, comedy-folk band the lancashire hotpots decided to write an absolute banger about it, and why I decided to make an embroidery hoop in ode of it.
I asked chatgpt to write a little something about blur’s song, “girls and boys” and here’s what it came up with:
“blur’s “girls and boys” was released in 1994, and it’s still a great song to listen to today. it’s catchy, it’s danceable, and it’s got a great message about gender roles and sexuality.
the song is about how people are free to express themselves however they want, regardless of their gender. it’s a celebration of diversity and individuality.
“girls and boys” is also a great example of blur’s eclectic sound. the song combines elements of pop, rock, dance, and electronica into one catchy tune.
if you’re looking for a fun and uplifting song to listen to, check out blur’s “girls and boys.” it’s sure to put a smile on your face.”
I made an embroidery of the lyrics this weekend, and a stop-motion video to go with it. I’m very proud of the video, it took bloody ages to make, and I’m glad it’s getting the love it deserves on tiktok.
(ps: if you’re not following me on tiktok yet – please do. here’s my link).
if you’d like to buy this hoop, give me a shout and we’ll see what we can do. and if you have anything simpsons-related you’d like stitched, please get in touch. love you, bye. x
